When should I apply for an industrial placement?

In the autumn of the year before your placement. Most employers recruit between September and February.

Do graduate schemes lead to chartership?

Many are accredited by a professional body such as the IMechE, IET or ICE and support you towards chartered status.

Do engineering schemes sponsor visas?

Some do, and some defence roles need security clearance with nationality rules. Each listing shows what the employer publishes.
